Madhya Pradesh Congress corporator booked following allegations of forced conversion & sexual exploitation

The Madhya Pradesh Police have booked a Congress corporator from Indore following allegations of forced religious conversion and sexual exploitation.
According to the police, Congress corporator Anwar Qadri was booked after a video purportedly showed two youths alleging that they were paid money to “push” some women into prostitution. The police identified the two youngsters as Sahil and Altaf, claiming that they have been arrested Friday.

Meanwhile, the two alleged victims approached a right-wing outfit, police said.

“After the video of the two accused went viral. We took action and also booked the third accused (Qadri) in a separate FIR. Investigation is underway,” he said.

According to the police, Qadri had incited the two men to marry the alleged victims to “convert them and push them into the flesh trade”.
The police claimed that suspects Sahil and Altaf befriended and raped the victims, offered financial incentives and even tried to threaten them into converting. Police are currently scrutinising call details, mobile videos, photos, messages, and the suspects’ bank statements, officials said.
Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Abhinav Barolia called for a probe “no matter what party the suspect belongs to”.
“If there are allegations of a racket to convert, and if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) constantly talks about this, then we must ask why this has spread across the state when the ruling party has been in power for decades,” he said.
