DMK supremo and former Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi, owing to his fragile health condition, has been admitted in the Kauvery hospital, Chennai on Thursday night. This is the second time the former chief minister has been hospitalised this month.
“Dr.Karunanidhi was readmitted with breathing difficulty due to throat and lung infection, he is stable and being treated,” said the Kauvery Hospital in an official statement.
Karunanidhi’s daughter and Rajya Sabha MP from Tamil Nadu Kanimozhi said that his condition was improving.
“He (Karunanidhi) had some lung infection and breathing difficulty, but he is much better now,” said Kanimozhi.
Earlier, on December 1, Karunanidhi had been admitted in Kauvery hospital for what was described as ‘optimisation of nutrition and hydration’ in the statement issued by the hospital. The hospital at the time had said that DMK the chief was being monitored by a team of doctors and he was scheduled to stay in the hospital for a few days.
