Locals tonsure rape-accused migrant worker in Uttarakhand, hand him over to police
A senior police official said they have received information that some Muslim workers from UP and Bihar who were working in the area have left on their own after the video surfaced.

The video was reportedly filmed Friday when the 23-year-old man, identified as a native of Bihar, had gone to a local market. The rape accused has been arrested.
An FIR has been registered against him under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Talking to the Indian Express, a local barber said, “The man has been working in the area as a labourer for the last few years. He probably got a minor girl pregnant. Her family members got to know about this and came to the market Friday morning when the accused was getting a haircut at my brother’s salon. They thrashed him and called me to tonsure his head. They also blackened his face before handing him over to the police.”
