Raipur police are investigating the death of a Liberian student after he fell from a residential building in Chhattisgarh’s New Raipur Monday night.

The incident occurred in a four-storied residential building in Sector 16 of Naya Raipur.

Around 7.40 pm, when Sam Paor Juday, a second-year MBA student, fell from the building, prompting some fellow students to rush him to a hospital, where he died during treatment. According to police sources, Sam was speaking to a woman, a foreign national, shortly before the fall.

“While they were speaking, the woman’s boyfriend reached there and something went wrong. It’s not clear yet if Sam jumped off the building, accidentally fell off or was pushed,” a police officer said.

Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Lakhan Patle said the police were trying to piece together what happened.

“The investigation is proceeding in all possible directions; several individuals are being questioned, and CCTV footage is being reviewed to determine the exact cause of death,” another officer said.
