Karuna lauds Advani for ‘political culture’

DMK patriarch said many good things about Advani ''despite the strong differences' between the two.

A book on DMK patriarch and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi with compilations of speeches of leaders cutting across political spectrum about him has been released.

The book,tited ‘Kalaignar 87’ has been compiled by DMK Rajya Sabha MP Vasanthy Stanley.

It has quotes of leaders such as President Prathibha Patil,senior BJP leader L K Advani,Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa,Indian cinema icons Amitabh Bachchan,Rajnikant,Kamalhassan,veteran journalist and political analyst Cho Ramaswamy and chess champion V Anand among many others about Karunanidhi.

Speaking at the book launch last evenin,Karunanidhi lauded Advani for showing his ”political culture” in saying good things about him ”despite the strong differences,” between the two.

”Setting aside how hard we opposed each other,he has shown a political culture in lauding me,” Karunanidhi said.

State Finance Minister K Anbazhagan released the first copy of the book,which was received by Puducherry Chief Minister V Vaithialingam.
