A local court today dismissed a CBI petition seeking to conduct narco analysis test on V Vijay Sai Reddy, vice chairman of Jagati Publications and an accused in the disproportionate assets (DA) case involving Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

The central agency had earlier submitted before the Special Court for CBI cases here that it was essential and extremely necessary to resort to the scientific methods of investigation by subjecting Vijay Sai Reddy to narco analysis test at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Bangalore.

Vijay Sai Reddy is the second accused in the DA case involving YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy among others.

He was arrested by CBI on January 2 and sent to police custody twice. A CBI counsel had said that Vijay Sai did not cooperate during the investigations.

The narco test on Vijay Sai will help to collect further evidence and to bring out entire truth and unearth the modus operandi used in commission of the fraud as the accused was having exclusive knowledge on the manner in which the crime was committed, the CBI had alleged.

“The test will enable to know where the money earned by quid-pro-quo was parked,” CBI had said adding Vijay Sai had not fully divulged certain crucial information and was evasive in his replies.

In its FIR against Jaganmohan and 73 others, including Vijay Sai,the CBI alleged that various investors, who are beneficiaries of public properties and licences among others, invested in the companies promoted by Jagan at very high premiums as a quid-pro-quo to the favours doled out by former Andhra Pradesh chief minister late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy on his son’s (Jagan’s) influence.
