Pune-based stud farm owner Hasan Ali Khan,accused of massive money laundering and tax evasion was taken to the JJ hospital for a routine medical check-up after his arrest.
53-year-old Khan,who will be produced in a court in Mumbai later in the day,was taken to the state-run hospital around 7 am for a routine medical check up,police said.
ED officials on Monday carried out multi-city searches including at his Pune home in posh Koregaon locality and his associates’ premises and detained him there. They later grilled him for nearly six hours in Mumbai before they put him under arrest here around midnight.
The scrap dealer has been charged under various sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
The probe agency cracked the whip on Khan,immediately before the end of the Supreme Court’s deadline today to the government to inform it how it proposed to tackle black money hoarders.
Khan underwent a few medical tests at the JJ hospital including ECG and blood examination.
“ECG and Blood tests have been taken and the results will be known in an hour,” said Dr C T Lahane,Dean of the hospital.
