Congress leader Digvijaya Singh slammed the BJP for ‘communalising acts of terrorism’ and sought to subtly draw a link between the Bodhgaya blasts and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s address to party workers in Bihar.
The Congress leader took to micro-blogging site Twitter, saying,Amit Shah promises a Grand Temple at Ayodhya. Modi addresses Bihar BJP workers and asks them to teach Nitish a lesson… Next day bomb blasts at Mahabodhi temple at Bodhgaya. Is there a connect? I don’t know. Allow NIA to complete investigation please.
A series of blasts on Sunday hit the famous Bodhgaya temple in Bihar injuring two monks. The Centre has called it a terror attack.
Digvijaya accused the BJP of attempting to communalise politics in the run up to the Lok Sabha elections while asking non-BJP ruled states, including Bihar led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar,to be careful.
Reacting to BJP statement after the Mahabodhi temple blasts that there were media reports about intelligence briefs on the people behind the Pune German bakery blast having also recceed the temple site,he said: “The non-BJP ruled states must be careful and more so,Nitish Kumar should be more careful.”
“I saw Ravishankar Prasad saying that probably Pune Bakery blasts culprits were also doing recee (of the Bodhgaya temple site). This is the kind of politics of hate and communalism in which the BJP specialises in. Meanwhile one suspect has been detained by the NIA and is being questioned.
