Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh on Friday alleged he received death threat on phone, with the caller asking him not to campaign against Congress candidate Gurudas Kamat in Mumbai North-West seat.
“I have informed the National Security Advisor,a senior official in PMO and also the Maharashtra Chief Minister about the death threat,” Singh told reporters during a road show for party candidates.
Alleging that Kamat, former president of Mumbai unit of Congress, was taking the ‘help of mafia,’ Singh said he would not be cowed down by the threats.
Kamat said Singh should desist from making irresponsible statements. “He should approach the police with the phone records,” Kamat said.
Asked if gangster Chhota Rajan may be behind the alleged threat to Singh,Kamat said “you should ask this to Rajan.”
