The Aam Aadmi Party said here today that it would contest elections from all 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra next year.
This was announced by AAP leader Manish Sisodia during a press conference held here.
Stating that the AAP would also contest the Delhi assembly elections,Sisodia said that a government headed by “crony capitalists” should not be formed.
“The AAP will press for decentralisation of powers and participation of the people in policy making at the Central level,” AAP leader Prashant Bhushan said.
He also said fundamental changes should be made in the police and bureaucratic system,so that they could be held accountable to the people.
Meanwhile, referring to Indian Premier League,Sisodia said that the government should stop extending any kind of support to it.
He said that IPL was projecting women as “sex symbols” and there was no cricket left in it.
The AAP leader also lamented that top politicians like NCP chief and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, senior BJP leader Arun Jaitely,Union Minister and IPL commissioner Rajiv Shukla and Union Minister Farooq Abdullah were getting attracted to it like bees to honey.
“Financial or any other concessions to IPL by the government should be stopped. It (IPL) is like an addiction of opium…it is wasting people’s time,” he said.
