16 children hurt after structure collapses in R-Day function

Sixteen children and a woman were injured in separate incidents of roof and shed collapse during Republic Day functions in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.

Twelve children were injured in Pilibhit district when a portion of the roof of Shivaji Shishu Niketan at Puranganj caved in during the R-Day function,officials said.

An FIR had been registered against the school Managar,they said.

In Ghaziabad district,four children and a woman were hurt after a tin shed of Abdul Kalam Azad school in Bhojpur area collapsed.

All the injured children were aged between 14 and 15 years,the the officials said.
