Couple, 1 other killed in road accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra

DSP (Kangra) Ankit Sharma said that an FIR was registered. He added that bodies will be handed over to family members of victims after postmortem examination on Friday.

Three people including a couple riding a two-wheeler were killed in a road accident near Thanpuri village in the Nagrota Bagwan tehsil of Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, on Thursday night.

The victims were identified as Gulshan Kumar, 34, his wife Suman Devi, 32, and Rakesh Kumar, 40 – residents of Sadarpur village near Tanda in Kangra district.

The police said that preliminary investigation suggested that the motorcycle riders – who were returning from a wedding – tried to overtake a scooter and collided with a Himachal Roadways Transport Corporation bus coming from the opposite direction.
