Kangana’s Emergency could face ban in Telangana, says CM, as Sikh delegation raises concerns
The delegation alleged that the film depicts Sikhs as terrorists and anti-nationals, and said this was offensive and damaging to the community’s image.

(X/@KanganaTeam) After a delegation of Sikh community leaders raised concerns, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday promised that his government would consider imposing a ban on the release of the film Emergency, starring BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, in the state, officials said.
An 18-member delegation from the Telangana Sikh Society, led by former IPS officer Tejdeep Kaur Menon, met Adviser to the Telangana Government (SC, ST, OBC & Minorities) Mohammed Ali Shabbir at the Secretariat in Hyderabad, expressing deep concerns over the film’s portrayal of the Sikh community.
The delegation alleged that the film depicts Sikhs as terrorists and anti-nationals, and said this was offensive and damaging to the community’s image. The Sikh community makes up 2 per cent of Telangana’s population.
