SAMAJWADI PARTY (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav met Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik Saturday and submitted a letter to him expressing concern over the law and order situation in the state. He also sought the Governor’s intervention to control what he termed “Jungle raj” in the state and urged him to “wake up” the state government on the issue of law and order.
In the letter, Akhilesh wrote, “After the election results on May 23, the law and order situation in the state under the BJP government has been deteriorating. The state has never seen such bad days… It is because the Chief Minister has lost control that officials are doing what they want. The whole system has broken down.”
The letter said, “Due to policies aimed at harassing people, several families are suffering. Many innocent people have been killed in encounters…Cases of rape, loot, kidnapping are not stopping in the state.” Akhilesh said, “ I would like to remind the Governor that he has always been the one who has woken up the government on the issue of law and order. He should wake up this government, too.”
