National Conference MP Mian Altaf Ahmad Thursday called for unity among Jammu and Kashmir’s political parties on the issues that related to the Waqf Amendment Act.

“We should all come together and oppose this decision of the BJP,” he said. The law was passed by Parliament last week after a 13-hour debate amid nationwide protests.

Emphasising that the sentiments of Muslims have been hurt through this amendment, “not just in Kashmir but across the country,” the Anantnag-Rajouri MP said: “I urge everyone including the NC and its opponents to refrain from any politics on this matter and come together to oppose this decision”.
