As the winter continues its retreat, scattered rainfall and some snowfall is likely over the western Himalayan region this week, according to the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) latest forecast. Meanwhile, dry weather will continue over most other parts of the country.
As per the weather forecast, a new western disturbance may result in light to moderate rainfall and snowfall in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on Thursday and Friday.
The National capital is likely to witness a partly cloudy sky today, as per the IMD, while the minimum and maximum temperature is expected to be between 5 degrees Celsius and 11 degrees Celsius. Delhi residents woke up to particularly chilly weather, with the minimum temperature dipping to 9 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal for this time of the year. The maximum was recorded at around 23.4 degrees Celsius.
In the east, due to a cyclonic circulation over interior Odisha, isolated rainfall is expected over the state till March 8.
Meanwhile, states like sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya will also see rainy weather over the next few days.
In the Southern region, the national weather agency predicted hot and humid weather to prevail over Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala during the next 2 days.
