Yet to decide on joining AAP: Patkar

Yadav had approached Patkar a few days back asking her to join the party.

Social activist Medha Patkar Sunday said she is yet to take a call on the offer from AAP’s Yogendra Yadav to join the new party. She said her decision would depend on AAP’s responses to some clarifications she would seek from it. Patkar held a meeting with the constituent organisations of the National Alliance of People’s Movement but refused to divulge details.

“We will declare our decision at a press conference at Azad Maidan tomorrow. I need to have some more discussions with some of my colleagues, also there are some clarifications I need from the AAP, need to gauge their responses to some of their suggestions. Please allow me a little more time to declare my decision,” Patkar said.

Yadav had approached Patkar a few days back asking her to join the party. However, when Delhi Chief Minister and the party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal was asked about the possibility of Patkar joining, he said he was not aware of the move. Patkar had been a part of the original core committee of the Lokpal agitation but had chosen not to join the AAP at its inception.
