Yemeni woman in India after evacuation

Sabah Shawesh, a Yemeni woman married to an Indian, reached India on Monday after she was evacuated by the Indian government along with her eight-month-old son.

“Finally safe in India. All thanks to @SushmaSwaraj and her incredible team. Jai Hind,” she tweeted.

The External Affairs Minister replied: “No need for thanks @SabahShawesh. It is our duty towards our country and countrymen. God bless your child — our young citizen.”

Sabah had reached out to PM Narendra Modi and Swaraj on Twitter on March 31, and had identified herself as PIO card holder.
