Even as a Ludhiana-based lady,Baljinder Kaur, claimed to be the real sister of Sarabjit Singh, the Indian prisoner who languished in a Pak jail for over three decades before his death a couple of months ago,her own brother has rubbished such claims. Calling it as nothing but cheap publicity,Charanjeet Singh said, our father may have met Sarabjit Singh as he was also a Punjab Roadways driver, but we brothers and sisters have never ever met Sarabjit Singh or his entire family. I am surprised to hear such claims by Baljinder.
Charanjeet Singh said they were five brothers and four sisters. Three of our brothers died in Mathura in 1987 and not in 1984 riots. We used to have a hotel in Mathura and later shifted to Ludhiana. Baljinder is lying by saying our brothers died in the 1984 riots.
Charanjeet said he has fallen out with Baljinder and another of their brother,Harbhajan Singh, and does not have any contact with them. It is surprising that Baljinder is now saying that Dalbir Kaur Sarabjits sister who spearheaded the fight to get her brother released from Pakistani jail got all the records from her house many years back to prove Sarabjit lived there.
While claiming that she was Sarabjits sister,Baljinder had said she was ready for a DNA test too. Sarabjits wife Sukhpreet and daughter Swapandeep met Baljinder yesterday but did not interact with the media.
