A woman Wednesday filed a complaint alleging that she was gangraped by a sub-inspector and two constables at a police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Hamirpur district when she had gone there to enquire about her husband who, she claimed, had been picked up by the police.

Her husband has a past record of criminal activities.

As per the woman’s complaint, the incident took place at Sumerpur police station in Hamirpur district in the intervening night of June 9 and 10. The woman visited the superintendent of police with local journalists Wednesday night and lodged a complaint.

Additional SP, Chitrakoot, Rakesh Prakash Singh said, an FIR would be registered only after the preliminary inquiry is completed. The woman would also be sent for medical examination, he added.

Chitrakoot Dham Range DIG Amitabh Yash said he will get call details of the concerned policemen and the woman verified.
