Describing the creation of a separate ministry for AYUSH as a “big thing”, newly appointed Minister of State (independent charge) Shripad Naik on Tuesday pledged “all possible support” to Ramdev in his work on yoga and Ayurveda. “Ramdevji is doing great work in this field. We will ensure that we provide all possible help to him in whatever ways that he requires. We will see how we can make his work easier. We will also work together with Patanjali and rope them into the ministry’s programmes,” Naik said, replying to a question about his ministry’s partnership with Ramdev, who had mobilised support for the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Conspiracy to create distrust among minorities: Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi

Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, who took charge on Tuesday, said there is a political conspiracy in the country to fuel distrust among minorities against the NDA government and this made the role of his ministry crucial. “This is a very important ministry now when a political conspiracy has been hatched to create distrust among minorities against the government. Minorities are sections of society who have gone far away from the development path and our government is committed to bring them back. Security and prosperity are very important and go hand in hand,” Naqvi said. He described middlemen as the biggest impediments to development and said he would want to go to the interior parts of the country to get a ground report of the implementation of various schemes.
