West Delhi: Domestic help raped by employer

An 18-year-old domestic help was raped allegedly by her 50-year-old employer in west Delhi,police said.

The victim somehow managed to escape from her employer Paramjit Singh’s residence in Rajouri Garden and approached police. Singh has been placed under arrest,they said.

The victim,who hails from West Bengal,was employed at Singh’s residence three days ago.

In her complaint,the victim claimed that Singh raped her on June 16 and 17. He allegedly threatened her with dire consequence if she approached police and held her captive.

Last night,Singh went outside to bring a gas cylinder and then the victim called the owner of the placement agency who took her to police.

Police took the victim to a nearby hospital where a medical examination confirmed rape.

Singh deals in medical equipment. His wife has died and he lives with his father who is paralysed.
