As per the procedure, when the judge asked the suspects whether they had any complaint against the police, initially they hesitated but later said they were ‘stripped and sexually abused’ and two of them were forced to perform anal and oral sex in the custody on Friday night.

In an application submitted in the court through their lawyer Sudhir Pataskar, they said one of them was first taken to a separate room where PSI Sunil Gaikwad and another policeman made him take off his clothes and threatened to give electric shocks on his private parts. They later brought the second suspect in the room and forced the two to have oral and anal sex with each other. They added that a policeman named Thorat stopped the two from torturing them. However, later they summoned the third suspect and also made him strip. They threatened to throw chilli powder on his private parts but again Thorat intervened and asked them to stop.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Baramati) Tanaji Chikhle said, “I am conducting an inquiry and have also recorded the statement of Thorat, who said no such incident took place. We will record the statements of others too.”Speaking to The Indian Express, advocate Pataskar said, “My clients have not made any false allegations. They have told the court the truth. We demand that a narco-analysis test be conducted on all the policemen involved in the incident. We also urge the Human Rights Commission to look into the matter. These boys had broken a glass of the truck after they had a brawl, but they were falsely implicated for robbery. This is the first ever offence against them.”
