THE Himachal Pradesh High Court Wednesday reserved its judgment in the income-tax case of CM Virbhadra Singh and his family members, who had challenged the order of the I-T department to transfer the investigations to Chandigarh.
Virbhadra and his family members’ revised I-T returns had shown a sudden rise in orchard incomes during his tenure as Union minister (Steel).
The I-T department and its offices in Shimla had transferred the cases to Chandigarh.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan today reserved its judgment after hearing arguments of the I-T department and the petitioners.
The court had a few days back summoned all records relating to the I-T department’s orders for transfer of the cases to Chandigarh.
