Two LeT militants killed in encounter

An AK 47 rifle,a .303 rifle,grenade launcher have so far been recovered from the encounter site.

Two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants were killed in a join operation by security forces and police in the hilly Doda district of Jammu Kashmir on Friday.

Identifying the slain militants as Javed Iqbal Malik alias Abu Hurrera of Kothi village and Akhtar Hussain Lone alias Mubassar of Marmat,an army spokesman said that both were outfit’s self styled battalion commander and tehsil commander respectively. The contact with them was established in Wani forests,6 kms north west of Doda town,during joint searches by 12 Rashtriya Rifles and state police.

An AK 47 rifle,a .303 rifle,an under barrel grenade launcher (UBGL) have so far been recovered from the encounter site,the spokesman said,adding that searches in the forests were in progress.
