Two killed,17 injured in separate road mishaps in Jammu

Thirteen persons were on Saturday injured when a matador collided head on with a truck at Banihal,about 180-kms from here,police said.

The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Banihal for treatment,they said.

Meanwhile,in a separate accident,a truck driver was today killed when the vehicle,carrying gas cylinders from Jammu to Srinagar,skidded off the road and rolled down into a 150 feet deep gorge at Nowgam,about 190-kms from here,they said.

The truck driver died on the spot and its conductor was injured,they added.

In another mishap,a police head constable was killed and three others were injured when a car in which they were travelling rolled down into a gorge near Chingus,about 150-kms from here,on Nowshera-Rajouri road last evening.

The Head Constable Mohammad Aslam,who was posted at Police Training Institute at Talwara in Reasi district,died on the spot,they said adding the injured were shifted to Nowshera sub-district hospital for treatment.
