Farmer hangs self,DC marks enquiry
Moga: A case of suicide by a farmer came to light on Saturday in Dharamkot. Angrej Singh (50) allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday and his family cremated him without informing authorities. Angrej allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a fan. Balwant Singh Behramke,local president of the Bhartiya Kisam Union (BKU),said Angrej was a senior member of BKU. He had taken a loan of Rs 7 lakh from the village co-operative society, he added. District magistrate-cum-District Commissioner,Arshdeep Singh Thind,said: An enquiry has been marked to senior police officials. Report will be out by Monday.
220 drug peddlers arrested in 4 days
Jalandhar: Over 220 persons have been arrested just four days after the Jalandhar Police Commissionerate launched a drive against drug peddlers in the city following the killing of an ASI. Over 30 kilos of drugs have also been seized.
Govt should run like Army unit: V K Singh
