thedevilwore.blogspot.com is a wicked, chirpy, fashion blog. It is good fun and hovers unabashedly on the cusp of gossip and information. Santu Misra, the blogger is a 21-year-old fashion student and stylist who lives in Delhi. At the recent fashion week in the Capital,he was spotted wielding his camera like a weapon of mass seduction. He spotted those who were dressed trendily, quirkily (even stupidly) and waylaid them for a picture. Seeing his camera handiwork,I invited him to write in to Unfashion.
This is what he has to say,but do check out his pictures. My favourite? The black and white Rohit Bal. Enfant Terrible and Hero No. 1 of Indian fashion.
In the devils words
This fall fashion week, saw the return of the big names, the prominence of shows outside the venue,a lot of bridal bling and celebrities mania all over the place. Here,a few highlights.
Indian bloggers finally get their due,and seats that actually enable a view of the runway. Bloggers were all over the fashion week venue, doing what they do best- blogging. Lets hope this keeps on continuing and we get more respect.
Designers are the new models
Gone are the days when a designers ramp appearance was confined to his or her last bow. Now,they walk the ramp too. A slew of impeccably dressed men did the catwalk during JJ Valayas finale. Feeling the wind in his hair was Rohit Bal,who came minus his signature aviators in a custom Valaya jacket looking younger than ever. So,can hope to see more designers on the ramp soon? As fashion changes its face every 6 months, nothing is impossible.
The Black Swans Ox Blood Lips
During Gaurav Guptas Fall-Winter 2011-2012 show,I had a Natalie Portman Swan momenta lot of dresses had swans appliquéd on them. The Dracula hairdo, the ox-blood lips and the sheer and draped ensembles all attributed to a dark and mystical look.
