Third year students of BTech (Agricultural Engineering) of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) returned to India after attending two-week training programmes at Moscow State Agro-Engineering University (MSAU) and Moscow State University of Environmental Engineering (MSUEE),Russia.
Dr Satish Kumar,Professor of the the Department of Processing and Food Engineering-cum-Coordinator of Training at MSAU,said that the students visited dairy farms,a modern milk processing plant,green houses for cut flower production and nursery and scientific exhibitions in addition to different departments and training centres of MSAU.
Dr V S Hans,Assistant Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering-cum-Coordinator of Training at MSUEE,informed that the students were shown around a waste water treatment plant,water treatment plant,water museum,hydro-power plants and vegetable processing unit.
Besides visiting various departments of MSUEE,the trainees were apprised of water management and land reclamation techniques,he said. Certificates were distributed among the students after successful completion of training.
