Home Minister RR Patil said on Tuesday said the state government is ready to hand over the probe into death of three minor sisters in Bhandara to CBI if the family demands it. He was replying to members in in the Council. He added if officials are found trying to botch up investigations,they will be punished.
Earlier,Leader of Opposition Vinod Tawde said no arrests have been made even after a month. Shiv Sena MLC Neelam Gorhe said,First the police said the girls were raped but later they said there was no rape. How can one trust the investigation?
Patil said 60 police officials have been put on the case,the highest in a rape case. Citing forensic reports,he said there was no rape. The reports stated drowning as cause of death. We are probing why the girls went near the well, said Patil.
