Madhya Pradesh Congress leader Ghufran Azam Monday accused AICC chief Sonia Gandhi of forcing her son Rahul on the party for the past 10 years though he lacks leadership quality and “has developed neither the art of speaking nor imbibed political thinking’’.
“How long will he be insulted,’’ the 68-year-old said, mentioning “Pappu’’ and “Munna’’ and “leader with low IQ’’ barbs hurled by rival politicians at the Congress vice-president. The comments are sure to earn Azam the wrath of the party high command.
This is not for the first time that the former MP has questioned the Congress leadership, but Monday’s outburst directly targeted the mother-son duo. “All parents want their children to become either doctors or engineers, but not every son lives up to the expectation. You tried to make him a leader for the last 10 years but he neither learned how to speak nor imbibed political thinking,’’ he wrote to Sonia.
