Six dead,seven injured in Hisar road accident

At leas six persons died and seven others sustained severe injuries in a road accident that took place in Hisar district of Haryana on Tuesday evening.

At leas six persons died and seven others sustained severe injuries in a road accident that took place in Hisar district of Haryana on Tuesday evening. The victims were travelling in an overloaded Max jeep,which collided head on with a truck coming from the opposite direction on Hisar-Siwani highway around 3 pm.

Till late evening,out of the six deceased only two could be identified. The deceased included four men and two women. The deceased identified were Vinod,driver of the Max jeep and Pradeep,a resident of Chaudhriwas village in Hisar.

While five persons died on the spot,another succumbed to injuries at the Hisar Civil Hospital. Critically injured passengers of the jeep were also being treated at the civil hospital till the filing of this report.

Three ambulances and a police crane were summoned to take out the injured from the mangled remains of the jeep.

According to the police,the truck driver who fled after the accident,was driving at a breakneck speed. It was coming from Siwani to Hisar,while the Max jeep — carrying over 14 passengers,including the driver — was going towards Siwani from Hisar.

The complainant,Mayaram,who was on his motorcycle when the accident took place,said the truck was being driven rashly.

“We have registered a case against truck driver and have also impounded the truck. We have the truck’’s registration number and initiated a process to locate the owner,” said ASI Harish Bhardwaj.

Couple dies in accident in Rohtak

A road accident claimed the lives of couple at Meham in Rohtak district on Tuesday. The accident took place on NH-10 when two cars coming from opposite directions collided head on. The deceased have been identified as Nathuram and his wife Krishna. Nathuram’s sister Mukhtiari who was also travelling with them sustained severe injuries. The couple were on their way to Hisar.
