SAD leaders are already annoyed with the cricketer-turned-politician and have reportedly been boycotting programs attended by his wife,Chief Parliamentary Secretary Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu. The Akalis even held a blood donation camp at Vallah on Saturday that was attended by Cabinet Minister Bikram Singh Majithia among other Akali leaders. Vallah falls in Amritsar East constituency, represented by Sidhus wife and she herself had held a sangat darshan-cum-free medical camp here on Friday.
In further reflection of Sidhus troubles with the party,Cabinet Minister Anil Joshi was given a rousing welcome by BJP cadre in Amritsar on Saturday. Among those lined up to welcome Joshi during his visit to the city after being given the Local Bodies and Medical Education portfolio, were Amritsar Mayor Bakshi Ram Arora, senior BJP leader Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina and Tarun Chugh, among others.
Punjab BJP chief Kamal Sharma, whose proximity to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal is an open secret, insiders say does not have any cordial relations with Sidhu either.
