A day after party vice-president Shanta Kumar said that doors would be shut to them forever,the BJP on Tuesday expelled 10 rebels,including sitting MLA Roop Singh Thakur,for contesting elections against the party candidates. The others who have been expelled include Kamla Patial from Dharamsala,Capt Bhupendra Chauhan from Bhattiyat,Sudha Sushant,wife of rebel BJP Lok Sabha member Rajan Sushant from Fatehpur,Sanjay Guleria from Jawali,Damodar Chauhan from Nachan,Hira Nand Kashyap from Solan,Mahant Ram Choudhary from Balh,Rajendra Rana from Sujanpur and Shyam Lal Thakur from Mandi.
BJP failed to fulfil promises made in 2007: HLP
Shimla: Former Himachal BJP vice-president Khushi Ram Balnatah, on Tuesday accused the BJP government of not implementing half of the election promises made in 2007. The BJP government has not implemented 50 per cent of election promises made in 2007, Balnatah,who quit the party a few days back and is contesting election as a Himachal Lokhit Party (HLP) candidate from Kasumpati constituency,said.
Two DCs shifted in poll-bound Himachal
Shimla: The EC on Tuesday transferred the deputy commissioners of Shimla and Una following complaints from some political parties. Subhashish Panda,Director,Public Finance and Public Enterprises,cum Special Secretary (Finance),has been made Deputy Commissioner,Shimla,replacing Arun Kumar Sharma. Sandeep Kadam Vasant,Additional Deputy Commissioner (Mandi),replaces Jeet Ram Katwal as Deputy Commissioner,Una,an official release said. Arun Kumar Sharma had served as special private secretary to Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal . Katwal has also served in the Chief Ministers office.
