A 23-year-old rickshaw-puller was arrested in Bhind,Madhya Pradesh,for allegedly murdering a businessman in Central Delhis Karol Bagh area. Police said the victim had allegedly objected to the rickshaw-puller,identified as Arun Kumar,sleeping in front of his shop.
Arun Kumar was arrested for murdering Naresh Gupta on May 27. Gupta owns a shop on Arya Samaj Road and objected to Kumar sleeping in front of his shop, said Additional Commissioner of Police (Central) Devesh Srivastava.
According to police,on the fateful day,Gupta had an argument with Kumar and told him to stop sleeping outside his shop. When the argument heated up,Gupta slapped Kumar,police said.
Kumar then picked up a stick,hit Gupta on his head and fled,police said.
Following a PCR call,police rushed to the spot and found Gupta lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to Lady Hardinge Hospital,where he was declared dead on arrival.
Kumar was traced to Bhind in Madhya Pradesh,from where he was arrested.
