The upcoming rail coach factory in Haryana will be set up along the Jind-Sonepat rail line near Gohana in Sonepat district,Union Railways Minister Pawan Bansal announced on Sunday.
The rail coach factory will accelerate the pace of development in the state and also provide direct and indirect employment to lakhs of people, Bansal said in Rohtak. A number of Congress legislators have raised a demand in the ongoing Haryana Assembly session that the factory be set up in their constituencies. These included Ambala MLA Venod Sharma and Tosham MLA Kiran Choudhary.
Bansal was addressing a function at the Rohtak railway station to flag off the Rohtak-Bahadurgarh-Delhi MEMU (electric) train. While the approximate bus fares between Rohtak and Delhi are Rs 60 one way,the EMU journey will cost only Rs 15 one way.
The train will start daily at 7 am from Rohtak and reach New Delhi railway station by 9.15 am. On return,it will start at 3.50 pm from Delhi and reach Rohtak by 6.20 pm. MEMU train will provide economical and faster travelling option and have 7,500 passengers capacity for a one-round trip, he said.
From Rohtak to Delhi,the train will stop in Delhi,Kishanganj,Vivekanand Puri,Daya Basti,Shakur Basti,Mangolpuri,Nangloi,Mundka,Ghevra,Bahadurgarh,Asaudah,Rohand Nagar,Sampla,Ismaila,Kharawar,Asthal Bohar and Rohtak.
On the occasion,Bansal also announced three new rail lines of Gurgaon-Sohna-Nuh-Firozpur Zhirka- Alwar,Hisar-Agroha-Fatehabad-Sirsa and Yamunanagar-Sadhaura-Naraingarh-Chandigarh. Work on Meham-Hansi Rail line will start soon, he added.
This years rail budget is a historical one. During the last 30 years,Haryana did not get any railway project,but in the past eight years,the state has got a number of rail projects and silenced the opposition, said Congress MP Deepender Hooda,who accompanied Bansal.
