Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who has been on a “leave of absence”, is expected to attend his party’s farmer rally on April 19 to protest against the NDA government’s move to amend the land acquisition Act. The party indicated that Rahul will be present at the rally following an internal party meeting on Monday evening.

The rally, on the eve of the second phase of the Budget Session, is among the several steps the Congress along with other opposition parties is taking to lodge its protest against the government’s move, both inside and outside Parliament.
