The main objective of his proposed programme is to meet the elected members of all the local bodies to have a feel of the grassroots situation in Punjab and what common man thinks about the Congress party in present scenario,a party leader said.

It has been learnt that councillors from the entire state have been asked to reach Jalandhar on October 19 as the local leaders were asked to provide the list of their area’s councillors and sarpanchs, another leader added.

Sources in the party said that Rahul’s second visit to the state in just over a week is as an attempt to strengthen the party and boost the morale of the party workers after the debacle in the state Assembly elections earlier this year.
