Primary school teacher ‘commits’ suicide

A primary school teacher,Poonam,allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her residence in Sundernagar,Ambala. The deceased’s brother,Pankaj Singh,alleged that Poonam’s husband,Vikas,mother-in-law and sister-in-law used to harass her for dowry. “After an altercation with Vikas,last night,Poonam went to the upper storey of the house and hanged herself,” Singh said. The police have registered a case of dowry death against Vikas,mother-in-law Payari Devi and sister-in-law Babita.
