Polling for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections will be held an hour earlier in Rajasthan where over 3.69 crore voters will exercise their franchise for the 25 parliamentary seats in the state.
As per the new guidelines,the polling will start at 0700 hrs instead of 0800 hrs,as in earlier elections and end at 1700 hrs on May seven in Rajasthan,Joint Chief Electoral Officer P C Gupta said.
CEC issued the time table of polling on Sunday,he said.
Over 3.69 crores voters will exercise their franchise for the 25 parliamentary seats in the state,he said,adding the process of nomination will start with the announcement of notification on April 11 and continue till April 18.
Scrutiny of papers will take place on April 20 and withdrawal of nomination papers by April 22,he said.
Altogether 42,591 polling stations will be set up to conduct free and fair polls,he said.
So far the Congress has not announced its list of candidates to be fielded in the LS polls whereas the BJP has announced the names of 11 candidates and will declare the remaining 14 names soon.
