National cleanliness mission

Govt claims: 4.36 lakh individual household toilets, 22,419 community toilets in urban India. 100 per cent door-to-door collection of solid waste in 31,470 municipal wards. 97.53 per cent of the target met for construction of toilets in schools.

MPs to adopt one village and convert it into a model village

Govt claims: Dwarpudi, in Vizianagaram district, adopted by Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju on its way to becoming free of alcoholism. Jasvantgarh in Gujarat, adopted by Dipsinh Shankarsinh Rathod, contributed resources to broaden kutcha roads. Mohali gram panchayat in Chhattisgarh, adopted by Motilal Vora, now has all its ration card holders linked to bank and Aadhaar cards.
