Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott Friday called up Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and invited him to share his vision for accelerating global economic growth and employment generation, while discussing the agenda for the upcoming G-20 meet in Brisbane.
Abbott conveyed that his country has been keenly awaiting the four-city bilateral visit of Modi, who appreciated Australian PM’s personal attention to his visit and emphasised the importance he attached to his trip as a step towards qualitatively transforming a relationship that he greatly values.
Modi would be travelling to Australia from Myanmar on November 14. During his five-day visit, the PM apart from attending the G-20 (November 15-16) Summit, would participate in key bilateral meetings.
“Prime Minister Abbott invited Prime Minister Modi to share, in particular, his vision for accelerating global economic growth and employment generation, based on his personal experiences of reforms and growth at the state level and his plans for India,” a PMO release said.
