A few armed members of ultra left outfit Peoples Liberation Front of India set a JCB machine and two buses on fire in Bisra police station area of Sundargarh district bordering Jharkhand on Tuesday night.
Rourkela DSP Umesh Panigrahi said the armed PLFI members came on bikes and set fire to the passenger buses and a JCB machine at Soroda, Pitala and Loharam villages last night. The activists armed with sophisticated weapons also damaged a bus.
The PLFI members threatened the villagers to kill them if they inform the police about the incident. Following information, Bisra police went to the two villages this morning for an on-the-spot investigation.
About six months ago, the PLFI members had caused similar havoc in the area.
