Social activist Anna Hazare has demanded that the Janlokpal Bill be passed in the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament. In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday,Hazare said the Bill was passed in Lok Sabha in 2011 and that “a committee in Rajya Sabha submitted its comments on the Bill on November 23,2012”. Referring to a letter he received from the PMO on July 24,Hazare said: “You (PM) have said in the letter that efforts are on to pass the Bill in this session of Parliament. However, not much time is left for the session to end. When both the Houses have presented their reports on the Bill, what is it that is keeping the Bill from being passed?”
