Parateacher, his parents held for triple murder

Police also found rope marks on the burnt bodies.

A parateacher and his parents were sent to judicial custody in Garhwa district on Wednesday, on charges of murdering the mentor’s wife and two children — aged four and six — by allegedly tying them up and setting them ablaze.

Police say Umer Ansari killed his wife Wahida Bibi and children in Sonehara village within Dandai police station limits on the night of August 16 over dowry demand. Recently, Ansari had passed the Teachers’ Eligibility Test of the state government and was in line for a permanent job.

“He used to complain about the dark complexion of his wife. After he became eligible for the permanent job, he started demanding Rs 1 lakh as dowry, though earlier he had already taken Rs 50,000 during the wedding,” said SP Sudhir Kumar Jha and added that Ansari wanted to marry for the second time.
