Pakistan High Commissioner Salman Bashir will visit critically injured Pakistan prisoner Sanaullah Ranjay on Monday. This was confirmed by the Pakistan High Commission on Sunday.
Sanaullah is still in deep coma. Bashirs trip was planned after the Ministry of External Affairs granted permission to the Pakistan High Commissioner to visit Chandigarh and meet Sanuallah,who was assaulted by other inmates inside a Jammu jail last week.
Pakistan officials visited him at PGI,Chandigarh,on Sunday after India granted consular access on Friday. The officials said that he continues to be critical,adding that the 52-year-old is on ventilator support.
The Indian convict,Vinod Kumar,who had allegedly attacked Sanaullah,was sent to seven days of police custody on Saturday.
He is on ventilator and in a deep coma. He continues to be critically sick, said an update issued on Sanaullahs condition by the PGIMER,Chandigarh,on Sunday. Sanaullah remains on ventilator, it said,adding that his blood pressure had been going down and his neurological status remained the same.
Patients metabolic parameters are now settling. The arterial blood gases are satisfactorily maintained on moderate oxygen flow. He continues to be on a ventilator. His blood pressure continues to be maintained with three inotropic drugs, the Pakistan High Commission said in a statement on Sunday evening.
Earlier,on Sunday morning,the Pakistan High Commission had said,The condition is unchanged since his arrival in the trauma ICU last evening. The doctors say they will wait 48 to 72 hours of trying to stabilise the patient before taking a decision on any major medical intervention.
