The Tonight Show was shot in Los Angeles for decades, but since Jimmy Fallon took over, the show has been based out of New York. To celebrate a week-long temporary shift back to LA, Fallon opened the February 2 show with a tribute to one of the most fabled sagas of moving from the East Coast to the West Coast: The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song. Despite no cameo by Will Smith, the video has been watched 7.2 million times on YouTube.
Rihanna, Kanye and Sir Paul McCartney are definitely one of the most unlikely trios the world has ever seen. On February 3, Rihanna released the music video featuring all three for her new song FourFiveSeconds — the first single from her highly-anticipated eighth studio album. The song will also feature on West’s next album. Wearing “All-American type” denim against a white backdrop, the trio sing the sweet acoustic number which they will also perform together at the 57th annual Grammy’s today. Shot entirely in black and white, the video has racked up 10.5 million hits on YouTube.
Kids re-enact films
On February 22, the 87th Academy Awards will celebrate the best movies of 2014. Most people haven’t yet watched all eight Best Picture nominees, but luckily for them, CineFix is offering the cutest plot summaries of the year. The YouTube channel has offered up the latest instalment of a yearly tradition, in which children re-enact the top Oscar contenders. This year’s video, which has garnered half a million hits, features a troupe of youngsters who stumble their way through the most climactic movie scenes of 2014. They act out some fairly deep material and condense each picture into a few adorable seconds.
