Delhiites facing trouble during dark hours now can contact a senior police official over mobile phone.
This new measure to ensure better coordination between police and public was announced by Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar today.
A senior police official said an “unique and distinct” set of mobile phone numbers have been alloted to an additional DCP level officer at Police Headquarters and Assistant Commissioner level officer at district levels.
“This mobile numbers will be operational during 11 pm to 5 am. This will enable senior officials to pass suitable instructions during night patrolling.
“It will also facilitate general public to have direct accessibility with the officers on night duty. It will also enhance the Control rooms to coordinate in effective and timely manner,” the official said.
A Deputy Commissioner of Police or Additional DCP will handle such calls at PHQ,while ACPs will handle it in districts.

For other districts,the numbers are North 8750870199),North-West (8750870299),Outer (8750870399),Central (8750870499),New Delhi (8750870599),East 8750870699),North-East (8750870799),South 8750870899),South-East (8750870999),South-West 8750871099) and West (8750871199).
