The National Investigation Agency on Friday arrested an alleged operative of the Jamaat-ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) terror outfit in connection with the Burdwan blast case.

Zia-ul-Haque, a resident of Old Gurutolla in Malda district of West Bengal, is considered to be closely associated with top JMB commanders, and absconding members Rezaul Karim and Yusuf Sheikh alias Moulana Yusuf. Haque, the fifth person to be arrested in the case, was nabbed from Talha Masjid in Khagragarh area of Burdwan.

The probe has allegedly revealed that Haque worked as a motivator. He used to collect jihadi videos and these clips were allegedly then shown to terror recruits at the Simulia and Mukhimnagar madrasas in Burdwan and Murshidabad, according to the NIA. ENS
