Vidarbha is experiencing extreme heatwave conditions,with Nagpur registering 46.7 degrees Thursday,up from 46.3 Wednesday. Most other districts in the region also registered 45 and above — Brahmapuri (45.9),Chandrapur (45.6),Amravati (45.2) and Wardha (45.8) — with people staying indoors and thoroughfares wearing a deserted look. Yavatmal (44.2),Akola (43.9),Gondia (44.1) and Washim (42.6) were marginally less hot. People complained of even air-conditioners and coolers not giving relief. The met department said the heatwave will continue.
